Tarita´s Trip

Well, we picked up Tara in Guatemala, headed through El Salvador, Honduras and ended up in Nicaragua. It was an awesome two weeks... turns out we were having so much fun that we forgot to take pictures! Anyways, here is a small taste of what we did.

4 lobsters and a tuna caught by some local guys - total cost was about 20$ canadian!








The picture doesn´t do the situation justice... this is us trying to cross the border into Honduras. There are 4 guys on each side of the car trying to be our guides across the border - insanity!!! Tara and I just sat in the back and laughed!




The beginnings of a crazy night on the playa... there is about $35 worth of alcohol on the table... there are 7 full bottles.

Nicaragua!

Hola amigos

well, we are in nicaragua now. we have some pictures, but they are in the van at the moment. so you will just have to wait a few! on the 25th we picked up tarita at the guatemala city airport and her dad met up with us as well. off we were to el salvador! our first border crossing and it was a success.

after a day or two in el salvador, we hit the road for nicaragua. that involved crossing out of el salvador, into honduras, out of honduras and into nicaragua. things were a little insane at the el salvador/honduras border, but we made it out alive. at one point we had 4 guys on each side window yelling at us to let them be our guides. when sylvain started just driving away, some were still hanging on the windows, running alongside the car! tara and i were quite amused in the back seat...

we spent yesterday at a pristine crater lake... tres cool. we also got ourselves to a grocery store and purchased a large amout of flor de cana rum... $4 a bottle. ridiculous! actually, what was more ridiculous was the next morning - who drank all that rum!!!

now we are in granada. we are doing some walking around this morning, and then heading to the beach! time for some surf!
